Sonja and Toby's wedding was super fun to work on. She wanted a moulin rouge feel to it. I decided to rent the movie for inspiration. While watching it I noticed that everyone was wearing tophats, so I thought maybe we could make rose topiaries with tophats on them. I made up a sample one and showed Sonja and she loved the idea. We decorated up each hat differently at each table. By the end of the night most of the hats were on the guests and not the centerpieces. We were also able to get a great deal on some matching fabric and we made up curtains, table clothes, and draping for the stage. As favors for the guests we rewrapped mini bottles of cider and added a thank you note from the bride and groom.
